I am an Interventional Radiologist and treat diabetic patients with blocked arteries of the leg. These patients have poor temperature regulation, loss of pain sensation and often get injuries to the foot. These wounds do not heal easily and get infected, develops into ulcers and gangrene. As the gangrene progresses, amputation is the only option . I strongly recommend Thermaissance socks which are thick , safeguarding from injuries. A recce was done by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation mountaineering expedition team at Ladakh region, upto 5050 m altitude and -10°C of cold windy weather. For socks, no irritation was felt after wearing it for a long period.
